My three-year-old son has autism and has received speech therapy services for the past nine months. My son’s speech-language pathologist is such a nice, helpful person, is so knowledgeable and passionate about her job, and always has my son's best interests in mind. She always goes the extra mile to provide me with support: helpful material and articles to read, toys and materials to help my son with his communication, and, above all, the training to help my son communicate. Every time she visits, she boosts my energy and leaves me feeling very optimistic and willing to work even harder to help my son. I feel lucky to have her as my son's SLP.

[Our speech-language therapist’s] methods have always been creative and customized to suit Leonie's needs. We also appreciate how she is able to include our older daughter, Elise, to ensure no one is left out of the fun! Whenever we approach [our speech-language therapist] with a communication problem, she always manages to find either an immediate solution or a series of exercises to help us towards a long-term goal.
Because of [our speech-language therapist’s] efforts, help, and resources, Leonie has exceeded all expectations from the medical community. She understands verbal instructions and communicates with well over 50 signs. She is walking, making friends, playing with her sister, and enjoying life thoroughly with a happy disposition. Thank you! We never could have done it without you!

Our six-year-old son, Rees, has been involved in speech therapy since he was two years old. My husband and I began his therapy by attending “It Takes Two to Talk”, an informative and helpful resource. Our son communicated through sign language until he was four years old. At that time, he began seeing a speech-language therapist on a weekly basis. Six months into these weekly visits, Rees began speaking. It’s been a wonderful thing to see our son gradually build his vocabulary and clarity in his speech.
Rees’ SLPs have been involved in other aspects of his life as well. Working with other therapists, they have helped him build motor skills and social skills and prepare him for elementary school. Our SLPs have been a huge support and encouragement. They have helped our son reach many milestones in his life (and we look forward to many more!!!).
